Outside of my career as a magazine editor and freelance medical and health writer, I’m a parent to a pair of bright, happy kids, live in a village in the English county of Kent, and I’m hugely enthusiastic about English traditional dance music and singing, boating and boat design.

I run a successful weblog devoted to traditional boats and the sailing scene around Faversham in Kent, and recently wrote a book on boat building for McGraw Hill’s International Marine imprint: Ultrasimple Boatbuilding
